December generated a box office of $2.8 billion, up +14% on December 2022 and in the same ballpark as the month in 2021 (-1%).
November falls short, generating only $1.9 billion globally, the lowest grossing month since the same month last year ($1.8bn).

The total global box office for 2023 has already overtaken the full-year result of each of the three prior years after just nine months.
August was the second month in a row with a monthly global box office on or above pre-pandemic levels (+1%).
Cinemas were in the pink in July as Global box office hit $4.54 billion, delivering the single highest grossing month since before the pandemic.
In June the global box office generated $2.9 billion, outperforming the remarkable levels of the two prior months (May +6%, April +3%). That helped Q2 2023 to reach $8.6 billion, the best quarterly result since 2019.
