Gower Street Analytics has agreed a renewal deal with major Latin American exhibition chain Cinemex for a number of services including Gower Street’s EXPERT SENSE service.
EXPERT SENSE is a free-to-access service for the film distribution and exhibition sectors. It collates crowd-sourced estimates from industry experts in different global markets and regions. This feeds back in Gower Street’s FORECAST system to more accurately generate global lifetime box office predictions for all titles scheduled to release in the coming 12 months.
Expert partners receive weekly anonymized reports on all-expert expectations, allowing participants to canvas broad industry opinion with ease.
Under the deal, Cinemex is a key partner in México and the Latin American region providing expert estimates for titles scheduled for release in the coming year in Mexico. This also provides Cinemex with access to FORECAST, Gower Street’s premium predictive analytics software-as-a-service platform.

The renewed deal between Gower Street and Cinemex continues a partnership first trialed during the pandemic in 2021. It was negotiated on behalf of Gower Street by Luis B. Vargas, Vice President LATAM for Comscore, Gower Street’s strategic partner.

Local experts provide greater nuance to individual market and regional differences by title and genre. These estimates inform Gower Street analysts in the maintenance and global expansion of the company’s flagship FORECAST service, which provides daily market projections by title for all films in the release calendar of each country. FORECAST enables distributors to plan best-option release schedules for their titles and slates, maximizing box office potential, and allows exhibitors to better plan strategy.

Gower Street launched EXPERT SENSE in 2021, expanding the reach from an initial 50 global markets to 90 global markets earlier this year. The company is already working with a number of international expert partners around the world. To date over 45,000 individual estimates have been gathered via the service.
