Gower Street’s global theater tracking featured in an article on IBC365 Monday (May 4).
The article, titled “Cinema left reeling by coronavirus shift to streaming services“, mentioned Gower Street’s estimate of cinemas still operating around the world in early April. This referred to our article of April 7: “The Only Way is Up: Less Than 1% of Global Theaters Now Open“.
Written by Celluloid Junkie editor Patrick von Sychowski, the article looked at the question of whether the global cinema shut down, due to the coronavirus pandemic, would mark a shift in how content is consumed.
