August posted another pandemic-era high at the International box office and the second biggest month of Global box office since the pandemic began.
July recorded the biggest box office results at both the Domestic and International (excluding China) markets since February 2020.
The Domestic market out-performed China, for the first time since China’s July 2020 re-opening, during June.
In May, global cinemas accounted for $1.4 billion in box office. This is the third best global monthly result since March 2020.
The long-awaited re-opening of cinemas in New York City and Los Angeles helped the Domestic market to achieve the highest grossing month in a year.
