Gower Street’s revised end-of-year 2021 global box office estimates were recreated graphically in The Hollywood Reporter for an article focused on IMAX this week. The article, titled ‘IMAX Aims to Get Back in the Black‘, was published Nov. 3 and written by Erik Hayden.

The piece looked at how the giant-screen exhibitor benefits from studios’ promotion of tentpole titles as well as the success of local-language hits, especially in China. IMAX has already achieved a record year for non-English language box office.

As well as featuring their own graphic representation of Gower Street’s 2021 projection – highlighting the expected growth of the Asia Pacific region thanks to China – the Hollywood Reporter also spoke to Gower Street’s Director of Theatrical Insights, Rob Mitchell. Rob discussed how the growth of China directly benefited IMAX.

Paul Dergarabedian, Senior Media Analyst at our partner Comscore Movies, also spoke to Hayden for the piece.
