Latest figures from Gower Street’s State Of The Market report formed the centre of a CineEurope kick-off article in Deadline this week. The article, titled ‘With Box Office Flying High, How Do Exhibition & Distribution Maintain The Momentum?: CineEurope‘, was published Sunday, June 19, on the eve of the European exhibition conference.

The article, by Deadline‘s Nancy Tartaglione, made extensive use of Gower Street tracking figures, showing where Global and International box office figures stand in 2022 in compared to the same point in the year in 2021 and the average of the last three pre-pandemic years (2017-2019), as well as figures for key Western European markets: UK/Ireland, France, and Germany.

Gower Street box office predictions for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in 2022 also featured in a CineEurope kick-off article in Variety. Christopher Vourlias’ article, titled ‘European Exhibitor Sector Looks for Rebound‘, was also published Sunday, June 19. Vourlias spoke to Laura Houlgatte, CEO of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), for the article. Gower Street originally announced the EMEA 2022 projection exclusively with UNIC in February.
